Who we are
We are a family of six living in Edinburgh, and our name tells the story. Six of us, a garden full of bees, and a genuine love of what they make. Dad Stephen and eldest son Ewan have both completed their British Beekeeping Association certificates — but the whole family plays a part, from tending the hives to bottling the honey. It is very much a family affair.
Our vision
We want to be Edinburgh’s most trusted, ethical, and bee-welfare-conscious beekeepers. That means doing things properly — keeping healthy colonies, never over-harvesting, and always making sure our bees have enough honey to see them through the winter. We care deeply about the bees themselves. Without them, nothing else follows.
“We need bees and without them our shelves would be bare.”

Our commitment
Good honey starts with good values. At The Six Honey Co, we are committed to honest beekeeping — treating our bees with care, handling our honey gently, and sharing it at its very best. We believe in quality over quantity, and in doing things the right way, every time.

Our Local Edinburgh Honey
Our honey is kept as simple and natural as possible. Our heather honey starts with the comb, which is placed into a muslin bag and cold-pressed through a heather honey press. It then settles in a tank, allowing air bubbles to rise naturally before being jarred. No excessive filtering, no pasteurisation, no unnecessary heating — just honey as it should be. Many people would consider this raw honey, though it is worth noting that there is no legal definition of “raw honey” in the UK. What we can tell you is that it is as close to the hive as we can make it.
